A recent painting done using acrylics. I usually do oil painting, on lenin canvas but this seemed to be a subject for acrylics on cotton. It went faster than oils. I will put up several steps.
I am actively putting new work up on my site; this may be the icon for on  my easel; what do you think?
Just had an epiphany while watching a dance performance last night. 2 couples were dancing, some time half nude, sometimes all nude. But that wasn't what struck me as great. They did this one long pose, where the man was on a block and the women were around him. It looked so religious, all I could think of was a Pieta (pity) scene of Jesus Christ being prepared for burial. His disciples had left him, and the women were left to prepare the body. His mother Mary and Mary Magdalene. The painting just jumped into my creative mind; two women forming a pyramid over the prostate dead Christ, both pulling the shroud over Him, tenderness and other conflicting emotions evident. Dramatic lighting. I have been working on the sketch and will contact models to do the final painting and hope it proves to be as powerful as my first image. I don't usually do religious paintings...

Just put up my new page on models seen from behind, a wink and nod at Ingres' bather. I call it Ingres's violin, as women have a violin shape....http://www.patrickmcdonnell.com/Nudes/index.html

Students of Siegfried Hahn

Mr Siegfried Hahn and Howard Wexler taught many young artists (I was lucky to be one of them).

Some of them have gone on to become professional artists in their own right. Here are a few of them and their web sites:
